Friends of Pat Garrett

Our mission, as Friends of Pat Garrett, is to ensure  that the site where the death occurred is set aside for a memorial to  Pat, and that the marker set up by Jarvis is retained and protected.

The Ellis House

In 1876 the Ellis family moved to Lincoln, New Mexico and open one of the areas first stores. The Ellis family supported the McSween faction during the famous Lincoln county war. Notably this property housed the famous outlaw “Billy the Kid” on numerous occasions. In later years, the property was turned into a TB sanitarium and then eventually into a private residence and Inn.
